Eric Smenner is a highly experienced and respected local criminal defense attorney in Kaufman, TX. Mr. Smenner holds a Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Spanish from Indiana University. He also was awarded a Master's degree from Indiana University in Spanish Literature. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Texas Wesleyan University in 1994.

Mr. Smenner worked for twelve years as a police officer; he was a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer and a detective in the Gang Unit. He studied Law while working as a police officer. Mr. Smenner, once licensed to practice law, went to work with the Dallas County District Attorney's office as an Assistant District Attorney. While at the DA's office, Mr. Smenner prosecuted both felonies and misdemeanors. Mr. Smenner then went into private practice in 2000 and has been in private practice since. He is completely fluent in Spanish.
