Eric Smenner
Eric Smenner holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Spanish from Indiana University. He also was awarded a Master’s degree from Indiana University in Spanish Literature. He received his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Texas Wesleyan University in 1994.
Mr. Smenner worked for twelve years as a police officer; he was a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer and a detective in the Gang Unit. He studied Law while working as a police officer. Mr. Smenner, once licensed to practice law, went to work with the Dallas County District Attorney’s office as an Assistant District Attorney. While at the DA’s office, Mr. Smenner prosecuted both felonies and misdemeanors. Mr. Smenner then went into private practice in 2000 and has been in private practice since. He is completely fluent in Spanish.
Mr. Smenner is licensed to practice law in all counties throughout the State of Texas. His principal office is located in Kaufman County but he regularly travels to surrounding counties, including Dallas, Tarrant, Ellis, Hunt, Van Zandt, Henderson and Collin County. Mr. Smenner is admitted to the Northern and Eastern District Federal Courts and has traveled outside of Texas to represent federal clients.
